Would you pay $279,000 for a home that is smaller than a shipping container? Apparently some people are.

A report in the San Francisco Chronicle caught our eye today. A company named Cubix is selling studio homes (bedroom, living room, kitchen combined) and beginning at $279,000 for only 250 sf., compared to a 40HC ISBU shipping container at 320 sf.
Many will ask why so much money for a container sized Condo. We’re asking why pay such a high price without the safety benefits of an ISBU shipping container home.
If you used the ISBU for the structure the interior and exterior could look the same as you see in the photo to the right, …except much, much stronger and fully recyclable.
Obviously it’s not size or price–it’s how you sell it….
