LabZero Awarded “2008 ISBU Best Designs Award”

Best ISBU Designs Award

As you have seen there are many shipping container designs and architectures out there, although inspiring, most are either very plain or simply not realistic or usable.

The ISBU Association has reviewed nearly two hundred which our ISBA Members have submitted but this LabZero architecture by Italian architect-designer Flavio Galvagni continues to come to the surface as designs that are not only cool and attractive but nearly feasible to actually construct and live in.

Galvagni was born in Italy 1970, graduated from the University of Architecture Venice and later studied design in London and worked by designing apartments. He eventually set up his own practice in London 2002.  He was a very early designer of ISBU shipping containers and although he did not build any shipping container housing projects that we know, his designs are some of the most accurate, detailed and complete we have seen even to date.

We will feature this his designs this month at our new Cubic Inspirations website to premier September 10.  The LabZero designs are one of the few shipping container architectures to appear in multiple categories on our new website; Concept, Modern, and our new Mmm category.

We first featured the LabZero designs back on June 12, 2007 when we saw his earlier shipping container and architectural designs.

Check out Flavio’s designs and 100’s of other ISBU and cargo container designs, plans, projects and architecture when we open our new Cubic Inspirations archives at Cubic Inspirations September 10.

More of his story and never seen designs coming up at the new Cubic Inspirations website…
