_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Business In A Box: Microsoft Joins the High Tech BizPods TrendCredit: ISBU Association Graphics Microsoft recently announced the entire first floor of their new facilities in Chicago will be filled with more than 200 mobile Data Centers built from BizPod type ISBU shipping containers. That's the largest one site use of ISBU based Data Centers ever and it's certainly proving the acceptance and use of ISBU shipping containers with even the largest and legitimate companies. Not A Fad Few people are really understanding the impact and wide use of shipping containers in building construction. "It's certainly not a fad", says John Sanders, GM of the International ISBU Association. "Without any doubt ISBU shipping container construction has become the fastest growing trend in the U.S. and global construction industry. Microsoft is just another large corporation who is making the point." Many now agree, ISBU based construction is not a fad, but a new found technology that can be integrated into virtually every construction sector. Not surprisingly, ISBU based construction has grown from the military medic shelters and housing units to become a very accepted, fast growing trend in standard home construction, offices, mobile BizPods, student housing, hotels, emergency housing, safe rooms, and even greenhouses. Why is ISBU based construction becoming so popular for home and business? ...super strong, low cost, recyclable, non-toxic, flexible, stands up against earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons, flooding and fires. Another High Tech Revolution As we reported in October 2006, Sun Microsystems took a big step forward and produced the first mass production Data Centers using ISBU shipping containers as their base. Some thought it was an Adam Kalkin Eco-type publicity stunt, but in fact, Sun Micro was very serious about it as an incredible technology break through. They point out it's superior strength, availability, flexibility and undisputed shipping mobility. ...nothing else can compare. The Proof "Why didn't I think of that"? As everyone expected, Sun Micro's competition jumped in fast and now Microsoft has a variety of choices from the three biggest as they are purchasing their 220 mobile ISBU based Data Centers. - Sun Microsystems: BlackBox, 20' - Rackable Systems: ICE Eco-Logical, 20' & 40' - Verari Systems: Forest Container, 40' - Dell Cloud: ISBU integration coming 2008 - IBM IDataPlex: ISBU integration coming 2008 A few other companies who are promoting the 'Business In A Box' technology are UNIQLO Clothing, Gusto Di Vita Coffee, Tuff Cube, and Travelodge. Recyclable, ISBU shipping container based construction is just beginning, and certainly here to stay.
