ISBU Association- Our Purpose To inform, educate, promote and protect... ___________________________ The purpose and mission of the ISBA (Inter-modal Steel Building Association) is simply to inform, educate, promote and protect. The principle focus of the ISBU Association is to develop and promote ISBU Educational programs, materials and tools globally. • To be a nucleus organization for all persons, businesses and organizations interested in the promotion and use of ISBU modules, technology and education. • To inform the public and business sectors regarding the many uses for ISBU shipping container modules, their strength, longevity, sustainability, unlimited storage and construction uses. • To educate building contractors, architects, designers, government building inspectors and the Eco-Green advocates on how to best use ISBU Technology in construction projects. • To promote their construction, storage, safety and ecological benefits. • To protect the consumer against fraudulent and unethical ISBU contractors and manufacturers. • To protect the contractors from unethical ISBU distributors, low grade ISBU products, and improper construction procedures that can cost them profit and credibility. • To develop and provide educational products, materials, and educational programs. ______________________________________________________________________________ There is very much bad information out there regarding ISBU shipping container construction. The formal ISBA organization that you see today is relatively new. The people involved in it's formation were a simple group of "grass roots" individuals who saw the potential of shipping container technology; it's valuable strength and recyclability but found no organized group or information resources for ISBU shipping container construction. Finally the ISBA organization was officially formed in early 2007 to coordinate the explosion of interest in Container Homes, Container Offices, Emergency Housing, Safe Rooms and Storage units by interested American consumers, designers, building contractors and businessmen. By late 2007 it's support and membership was also surging globally. The principal Founder of the ISBA is a third generation American businessman who owns an international consulting business with offices in China and Hong Kong. These cities are the point of origin for most of the surplus of nearly 700,000 shipping containers sitting idle in the U.S. in 2006, not including the containers sitting in other countries of the world. By June 2008 the number of surplus shipping containers sitting in the U.S. and other countries of the world was near zero. Many people are very interested in the recyclable ISBU construction for many years, however the ISBU Association is the only organization to finally research, organize, promote and educate on the use and benefits of ISBU shipping container construction. There are many U.S. and European companies and individuals who have been key players in the growth and interest of ISBU architecture and housing development. ISBU-INFO.org is an attempt to promote, educate and highlight all these important advancements. Not Just Recycling Our purpose is not simply to reduce the stores of shipping containers globally, but to also promote the use of ISBU modules as the safest, strongest, and most flexible, recyclable and sustainable construction and storage product available. Financial Benefits in 2008 As the US & International housing and economy was turning down fast, the interest in ISBU housing, including ISBU Integrated housing and storage units is rising even faster. We urge you to Join the ISBU Association and learn how you can benefit from ISBU products and it's Eco-Green related technologies.
